The clock
Introduction
I have to start by admitting that my knowledge of clocks is at best very
limited.
The frame around the face has fleur de lys in the corners. The hand
has a fleur de lys index. It has a sun shaped ornament on top with
the upturned ray ending in a fleur de lys. All these ornamental features seem to indicate that this is a
clock made especially for the royal court.
It seems to be linked with Huygens the inventor of the pendulum clock by a slight pointing gesture
of his right hand.
